The Context of White Supremacy hosts the eleventh study session on former South African President Nelson Mandela’s autobiography, Long Walk To Freedom (1994). Gus hopes this will be an opportunity for Victims of Racism to learn more about the region of South Africa and the business operations of White Terrorism in this location during the 20th century. During last week’s installment we learned details about Madiba’s imprisonment – an African guard who smuggled him resources and looked out for him as best he could. He shared tobacco and edibles with his fellow inmates as well as the White guards. Madiba also outlined his thoughts on the defense he wished to mount in the terrorist, South African court of law; he was possibly facing the death penalty. We’ll continue to follow the court proceedings against Madiba and co-defendants. Keep an eye on how the Whites abused other black people as well – Winnie Mandela as well as random black spectators in the courtroom.
