Don’t be surprised if a debt collector shows up at your door demanding payment. Capital One recently announced that they “may contact you in any manner we choose,” including a personal visit to your home or your place of work. The policy caused such a stir that reportedly Capital One found itself in the uncomfortable position of having to back away from its own language. What’s Your Take? 1. Let’s not let our “outrage” get more Black children killed. Rev. Al Sharpton is planning a protest March in Tallahassee Florida next month to protest the acquittal of George Zimmerman and the mistrial on the 1st Degree Murder Charge of Michael Dunn. Tallahassee is one of three Districts in Florida that has a FEDERAL COURT where there is no “Stand Your Ground Law” and there is a James Byrd-Matthew Shepard “Hate Crimes Law” where Angela Corey has ZERO jurisdiction and couldn’t possibly mess up the case. The Federal Courts have a 98% Conviction Rate and would love to have the $5 Million Dollars that Rev Al and them will spend during their protest march. Yes we morn, we’re outraged disgusted and all that but please let’s solve the problem and not just contribute to more Black teens being killed by demanding Angela Corey take the next hate crime case.

    1. Question, is Rev. Sharpton calling for Federal charges? I think he has and will continue to do so. That would put you both on the same page.

      1. If Rev. Sharpton is calling for Federal charges then we are on the same page If he’s calling for Angela Corey to retry Michael Dunn that’s counter to that. The Hate crimes law was signed into law in 2009 by President Obama. Four cases have been tried and each one got a CONVICTION but none of the cases were a Racist Monster killing a Black person. The key is there’s a Federal Law against killing someone because they’re Black there’s simply not a State law in Florida against that in fact there’s a SYG Law that makes it OK.

        1. Like I said, looking to the white people in the Federal government to step up is misguided hope in a system PResident Obama and Eric Holder said is broken. From the start Sharpton called for federal charges when Zimmerman was not charged. I have issues with many of things Sharpton does but joining a march organized by grassroots activist in Florida and Martin’s parents to remember Trayvon Martin ain’t one of them. http://uptownmagazine.com/2014/02/trayvon-martin-vigil-two-year-anniversary/

        2. Also, racist white people were killing Black folks and getting away with it before SYG and will continue to do so even if SYG gets repealed. A law does not regulate morality and can not control people’s behavior.
