Michael Dunn attempting once again to have his murder trial moved

In 2012, Dunn shot and killed 17 yr-old Jordan Davis but in a perplexing outcome, the jury could not agree on a guilty verdict but Dunn was convicted on three counts of the attempted murder of the teens sitting in the vehicle with Jordan Davis when he was killed.

Dunn’s attorneys will argue that local news coverage of the case, which has also garnered national attention, should be moved to another county because Dunn can not get a fair trial in Duval County.

Dunn attempted but failed in the first trial to get it moved to a more “republican” friendly county and sent letters to local news outlets denigrating residents of Jacksonville with racial slurs.

In one of the letters Dunn wrote to a family member from jail he stated,

“It’s spooky how racist everyone is up here and how biased toward blacks the courts are. This jail is full of blacks and they all act like thugs,” he noted. He went on to say, “This may sound a bit radical but if more people would arm themselves and kill these **** idiots when they’re threatening you, eventually they may take the hint and change their behavior.”

Dunn seems to be unaware of the contradictions he was making by stating the jail is full of “blacks” but somehow at the same time claiming that the courts are somehow favorable towards them.
