New Abolitionists Radio w/ Jamel Mims of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network

New Abolitionists Radio seeks to educate the public and agitate for an end of 21st Century Slavery and Human Trafficking. It is an extension of the group Move To Abolish 21st Century Slavery

Tonight’s guests is artist and educator Jamel Mims who in 2008 was awarded a Fulbright to study hip-hop in China. His research resulted in The Misadventures of MC Tingbudong, a participant-observant study and multimedia ethnography, exhibited in New York and Beijing. Work from visual arts to political expression, with themes of youth culture, social transformation, and the urban environment. Jamel is a member of the NYC Revolution Club, and an organizer of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network.
