Joe Weeks, a nephew of Liberian Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan’s is wondering why his uncle is not being treated like a white person. Three white people, Dr. Kent Brantly, Dr. Rick Sacra and Nancy Writebol all were treated, declared Ebola-free and set loose among the public. All appeared to be working for the United States Agency for International Development. One of the doctors was reportedly given plasma from an African Ebola survivor and is allegedly now immune to that specific strain of Ebola.
However, Joe Weeks is still wondering why his Uncle is not getting the same drugs and treatment said, “I don’t understand why he is not getting the ZMapp.”The president of Liberia told media outlets that Duncan lied about his contact with Ebola victims on several questionnaires used to keep the strain from being spread internationally. Duncan passed through at least one screening where he was checked for Ebola but was not displaying any symptoms of the virus at the time.
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia has stated that Duncan will be “dealt with” if he returns to his home country of Liberia. Anywhere from 50 to 100 people who may have come in contact with Duncan in Dallas, Texas are being monitored for Ebola symptoms and the apartment complex where he lived is under quarantine.
Duncan has progressively gotten worse in a short period of time and listed in critical condition.
