The U.S. and Somalia are the only two countries in the world that have yet to ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child, an international treaty designed to protect children’s rights. Some critics suggest that the U.S. will never ratify the document because it is “anti-family” and bans the option for life-long prison sentences, a penalty most often assigned to people of color. We return to the subject of the school-to-prison pipeline.

Today we look at the probation companies who don’t care if you don’t have a ride or if you can’t get off work to come pay them their fees. If you don’t report, they tell the court to revoke your probation. If your probation is revoked, your town can put out a warrant for your arrest and throw you in jail. Then they charge you for the privilege of staying there. This is the face of Ferguson America- but we’ll tell you about a newly filed federal lawsuit that calls it what it is- racketeering and extortion.

Our Unexplainable Black Death Profile is Jerame Reid, who was killed two minutes into traffic stop December 2014.
