Today we will discuss a number of articles, essays and opinions coming from the judiciary, where judges are sounding off about mass incarceration/modern day slavery. Starting from the comments of Supreme Court Justices Anthony Kennedy and Stephen Breyer, recently before the House Appropriations committee- to other Federal justices who have also begun to voice their weighty opinions on their place in this slave nation’s system of “justice”.

I’ve mentioned him before, many times as an example of what happens on Riker’s Island on a regular basis- people just sitting and rotting away, not convicted of any crimes… just unable to afford bail, awaiting trial for whatever they have been arrested for. Well today we will discuss the story of Kalief Browder, and tie that into the news that Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York will introduce a plan today to gradually reduce the inmate population at Rikers by clearing the backlogs at state courts.

We will continue our discussion on what has caused this explosion in mass incarceration in these United States, as well as follow up on news headlines.
