South African government apologizes for attacks on other Africans in April

by Scotty Reid

In what can only be described as proxy racism in the form of African tribalism, South Africa’s government has vowed to crack down on the violence towards African immigrants and reportedly arrested more than 300 people for a range of crimes against immigrants. Authorities in Johannesburg said that 307 suspects had been arrested for a range of xenophobic-related crimes.

More than 1,000 people have been displaced after violence against foreign nationals started on March 30 and continued with April being a particularly deadly month in the country’s coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal. The attacks have been spreading inland to the country’s financial hub in Johannesburg.
