The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Ama Mazama. Director of the Graduate Programs of the Department of Africa American Studies and Associate Professor at Temple University, Dr. Mazama is also the managing editor of the Journal of Black Studies. She is a world renown educational consultant with a distinguished reputation for infusing African content within academic curriculum. She published brilliant essay detailing the struggles black children face in U.S. classrooms dealing with Racism and how this is leading many parents to pursue homeschool. We’ll ask for suggestion on what she recommends for parents who decide to keep their children in public schools. We’ll also ask Dr. Mazama what should parents do to minimize the likelihood of their child being suspended. We’ll also review the growing trend of black parents – even in Pennsylvania – refusing to subject black children to standardized tests.
