The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly caucus on Workplace Racism. The reason for this segment is to strengthen non-white people’s problem-solving abilities and to refine how black people think, speak, act and manage emotions while on the job. Any listeners who’ve pieced together the best method to minimize conflict with White and/or non-white co-workers, avoid demotions, write-ups, terminations or other racial hostility we experience under Racist labor conditions should be first to call in and share specifics. We always welcome the experiences of Black “entrepreneurs;” please, let us know how being “self employed” alters your contact with Whites on the job. We’ll hear counter-racist strategies from listeners as well as individual reflections from your own work environment. Gus encourages victims of racism to record your workplace experiences. Documenting your thoughts and workplace incidents is more reliable than memory, and the act of writing can help clarify your thinking. We’ll also request that non-white listeners share important sections of the policy and procedure from your current place of employment.
