Today is the January 3rd, 2018 broadcast of New Abolitionists Radio, this is our 6th year of broadcasting. We are the voices screaming in the wilderness during a season of profound silence

On this day, January 3rd, 1624, According to records, William Tucker was the first person of African ancestry born in the 13 British Colonies. His birth symbolized the beginnings of a distinctly African American identity along the eastern coast of what would eventually become the United States.

As usual, there is more information available than we could hope to cover in one period. Hang tight, call a few friends to tune in, and we’ll do our best to make sense of it all from an abolitionist perspective.

• Our Abolitionist in Profile tonight is John Mercer Langston. (1829 – 1897)

• In the segment ‘For Freedom’s Sake. A History of Rebellion.’ We tell of Operation PUSH scheduled for this January 15th of 2018. Florida’s 97,000 state prison inmates are declaring a statewide prison slave labor shutdown. Rebelling against the machine.

• Our Rider of the 21st Century Underground Railroad is Lamonte McIntyre who was wrongfully imprisoned in the state of Kansas for 23 years. He was exonerated for being wrongly imprisoned on Oct. 13, 2017, and has yet to receive any help or compensation.
