Uganda government launches labour monitoring system to protect Ugandans working in Arabia

The government of Uganda has launched a labor monitoring system in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. According to Janat Mukwaya, the Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, the online monitoring system will help assure the safety of Ugandans working in Saudi Arabia by offering a platform on which they can be tracked. Migrant workers have faced abuse at the hands of employers in Saudi Arabia for decades.
