According to her family, friends and supporters, “Mabel Williams spent the majority of her life fighting for civil rights during a tumultuous period in America’s history and was eventually exiled from the U.S., but her resolve to help others never faltered — even as the lives of her family were threatened. She had a courageous spirit and often worked alongside her husband, the late civil rights activist and author Robert Williams Sr., to bring attention to issues facing African Americans throughout the country”. Mabel Williams was memorialized in Monroe, NC today and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hill Crest Cemetery in Monroe.

Tonight on Political Prisoner Radio we will be joined by Black power husband and wife team ‎Lorenzo Kom’boa Ervin & JoNina Abron-Ervin, both former black panthers, current members of Black Autonomy Federation and co-hosts of Black Autonomy Federation Radio. We will ask them their thoughts on the legacy of Mabel and Robert Williams.
