Today we will be joined by Arlene Eisen, the author of the Operation Ghetto Storm report on extrajudicial killings of Black people in the United States. A recent blog posted by the Washington Post distorts the finding of the report and we want to give the authors of the report who were not consulted by the writer of the post.

Update: WAPO “Fact Checkers” at the time of this post has kept showing up as deleted.

Arlene Eisen has made a living as a journalist, teacher (including a short time at University of Havana) and machinist. She has written two books about Vietnamese women, one was translated into 5 languages. After Katrina she worked for the Peoples’ Hurricane Relief Fund in New Orleans, mostly editing their newsletter and other written materials. Eisen started work on Operation Ghetto Storm after Trayvon Martin’s murder and before George Zimmerman was charged. She then spent the next 18 months researching and writing a first quarter report, half year (every 36 hrs) and then the annual (OGS or #every28)—all of which was initially published by Malcolm X Grassroots Movement.
