By Scotty Reid,

Immigrants For Sale” is an excellent short abolitionist documentary that is well done, and gets to the point quickly and even gives you an exclusive look inside a real 21st Century slave auction. As the years go by, as an abolitionist, it is a great to see the biggest lie ever told about the history of the USA receive more exposure as the truth slowly is introduced to the masses. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, the film does not examine slavery still being practiced against Black people and only presents the immigrant side of the industry.

Almost every week since June 6, 2013, the online digital radio program New Abolitionist Radio has been telling whoever will listen that slavery was never abolished after the Civil War and the 13th Amendment of the US Constitution was the means to legalizing slavery in America. It was an agreement between the Union and Confederacy to end hostilities with a major capitulation to the South; they would get to continue practicing slavery under new legal requirements.

One year before the Civil War in 1860, while running for President, Lincoln sent a letter to a Georgia Congressman his friend and ally Alexander Hamilton Stephens.

“Do the people of the South really entertain fears that a Republican administration would, directly, or indirectly, interfere with their slaves, or with them, about their slaves? If they do, I wish to assure you, as once a friend, and still, I hope, not an enemy, that there is no cause for such fears.” – The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume IV, “Letter to Alexander H. Stephens” (December 22, 1860), p. 160.

Stephens would later become the Vice President of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War.

A book by Chris DeRose, “Congressman Lincoln“, published by Simon & Schuster, says that Lincoln and Stephens met in the closing days of the Civil War but the two could not come to an agreement to end hostilities. I suspect and the evidence suggests that perhaps they did come to an agreement of sorts and that the South would be permitted to practice slavery as punishment for crime.

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

After the 13th Amendment was passed, the South passed what is known as the “Black Codes” and lead directly to the “Convict Leasing Program“.  The US federal government created the corporation UNICOR in 1934 and its prisoners produce various goods and provide various services, primarily for the benefit of the US military and corporations as an alternative to outsourcing.

Legalized slavery in the USA is being practiced at unprecedented rates and is projected to become a trillion dollar per year industry as it continues to expand. With the undue influence of corporations like the Geo Group, Corrections Corporation of America and MTC Management and Training Corporation over the legislative process through lobbying groups like ALEC, it should be no surprise the USA is experiencing what it calls “mass incarceration” which is in fact legalized slavery. Millions of non-white people are living in a country where is has become nearly impossible to live without breaking some law written by prison slavery lobbyist. Ironically, it was conservative icon Ayn Rand who said in the 60s that, “The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”

However, “Immigrants For Sale” does not point out is that immigrants detained in the US are the victims of the illegal slavery being practiced outside of the parameters of the 13th Amendment but still fully sanctioned by the US government.

Angela F. Chan, policy director and senior staff attorney managing the Criminal Justice Reform Program at Asian Americans Advancing Justice said on Black Talk Radio News, when it comes to immigrants who have come into the country without proper documentation, they are not charged with criminal offenses but civil offenses therefore when people fall into this category and are forced or coerced to work for slave wages, this is slavery not permissible by the 13th Amendment. Chan recognized that slavery was not abolished in the US in her HuffPo article “America Never Abolished Slavery” published earlier this year.

With all the documentation that shows slavery is being practiced out in the open in the United States but yet the masses continue to be taught the great lie that slavery ended and every person still teaching this great lie to anyone, has to be look at as part of the societal conspiracy to hide this evil institution from those in the US and the rest of the world.

However, the masses are slowly but surely being educated through the efforts of modern abolitionists and Venezuela has been the first nation to call on the USA to end modern slavery and to repeal the 13th Amendment that permits slavery as punishment for crime.
