Today, let us take a look at the attempt Malcolm X, John Henrik Clarke and other black nationalist leaders to create an organization that would foster unity among Black people so that they could more effectually act in various areas of people activity like politics.

The Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU) was founded by Malcolm X, John Henrik Clarke, and other black nationalist leaders on June 24, 1964 in Harlem, New York. Read some of the organizational planks.

  1. You mentioned”white nationalism.” But is there a culture of black nationalism?

    1. There are black people who subscribe to Black nationalism. I would not call it a culture. The principles of Black nationalism are unity and self determination. It started in the 1800s as a response to institutional racism of the US government and the white terrorism against Black communities.
