The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Athena D. Mutua. The Floyd H. & Hilda L. Hurst Faculty Scholar at the University of Buffalo’s School of Law, Professor Mutua writes in the areas of critical race and feminist legal theory. She edited the collection Progressive Black Masculinities, which examines how White Supremacy is designed to deny black males access to patriarchy. Her work challenges notions about black males benefiting from patriarchy. We’ll ask get Dr. Mutua’s reflections on the election of Donald J. Trump, and how his White House tenure will impact black people. We’re eager to hear her thoughts on the surprising edge White Women provided Trump. We’ll also get her reflections on former Brooklyn prosecutor Ken Thompson; he died earlier this year from a bout with cancer.
