The C.O.W.S. Workplace Racism 02/09/17

Thursday, February 9th 8:00PM Eastern/ 5:00PM Pacific

The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly forum on Workplace Racism. This program is specifically constructed to bolster our problem-solving abilities and to refine how black people think, speak, act and control our emotions while on the job. Any listeners who have figured out the best strategies to minimize conflict with White and/or non-white co-workers, avoid demotions, write-ups, terminations or the other usual troubles we experience under Racist work conditions should be first to call in and share details. We always welcome the experiences of Black “entrepreneurs;” please, report how being “self employed” changes your contact with Whites at work. We’ll hear counter-racist recommendations from listeners as well as individual reflections from your own work environment. Gus encourages non-white people to catalog our workplace experiences. Documenting your thoughts and workplace incidents is more trustworthy than memory, and the act of writing can help organize and clarify your thinking. We’ll also request that non-white listeners share significant segments of the policy and procedure from your current place of employment.

  1. Since 2012 and ongoing, I have been subject to Unlawful discrimination, intimidation, verbal abuse, threats, including disparate treatment in a hostile work environment. I was bullied by six male coworkers including my Manger, I was teased mocked and called several mean names: Stupid, ugly, fat, loser, crazy, Cry baby, ball head, friendless, smelly, Jolly green giant, drag queen, and big truck.

    1. I sent several emails to first line Supervisors, and has filed grievances with the Union on Multiple Occasions during the last four years. I reported the harassment, verbal abuse, hostile work environment to the Agency and nothing was done about it. The Director of Facilities, Security and Contacting Management has Misappriated government funds for his own personal use to Retaliated against me for exercising my civil rights.

      1. I was wrongful terminated on January 27, 2017, without any notices. After being on Aministrative leave for one year for addressing the verbal abuse and Unlawful harassment.
