The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly forum on Workplace Racism. This program is specifically constructed to bolster our problem-solving abilities and to refine how black people think, speak, act and control our emotions while on the job. Any listeners who have figured out the best strategies to minimize conflict with White and/or non-white co-workers, avoid demotions, write-ups, terminations or the other usual troubles we experience under Racist work conditions should be first to call in and share details. We always welcome the experiences of Black “entrepreneurs;” please, report how being “self employed” changes your contact with Whites at work. We’ll hear counter-racist recommendations from listeners as well as individual reflections from your own work environment. Gus encourages non-white people to catalog our workplace experiences. Documenting your thoughts and workplace incidents is more trustworthy than memory, and the act of writing can help organize and clarify your thinking. We’ll also request that non-white listeners share significant segments of the policy and procedure from your current place of employment.
