New Abolitionists Radio: International Women’s Day And No Focus On Their Increasing Enslavement

Tune in for news and information related to 21st Century Slavery and Human Trafficking. Today is international women’s day and like we told you last week, women are the fastest growing segment of today’s prison population. Unfortunately, the mass enslavement of women does not seem to be of major concern to those leading women focused groups. They are more concerned it seems with opposing the Trump administration on a superficial level despite more and more of their sisters and mothers become the chattel property of the federal, state and private prisons.


“Over the past quarter century, there has been a profound change in the involvement of women within the criminal justice system. This is the result of more expansive law enforcement efforts, stiffer drug sentencing laws, and post-conviction barriers to reentry that uniquely affect women. Women now comprise a larger proportion of the prison population than ever before; the female prison population stands nearly eight times higher than its population count in 1980.
