The Context of White Supremacy welcomes William “DC” Clark. A retired firefighter for the Miami-Dade County Fire Department, Mr. Clark invested years keeping south Floridians safe while simultaneously battling Racism. Clark made a habit of challenging Racism within the fire department throughout his career. Days after the 9/11 terrorist attacks of 2001, Clark and two black colleagues were wrongly accused of tearing down the United States flag from a fire truck. Clark and two others were branded black Muslim radicals. The incident was dubbed the “Opa-locka Three” and pre-dated Collin Kaepernick’s anthem protests by more than a decade. We’ll ask Mr. Clark about his effort to improve public education for black children and the recent reports that a gang of White Miami firefighters terrorized a fellow black firefighter. We’ll be sure to ask Mr. Clark about the fire department’s tradition of “scrotumizing” – putting the penises and scrotums on other bound firefighters.
