CoronaVirus (COVID-19)

On tonight’s broadcast of BTR News w/ Scotty Reid, we will discuss the spread of CoronaVirus (COVID-19) in several states, the fight in Congress over funding to supply test kits, treat people and develop an affordable vaccine. Only in the profit-driven healthcare industry is this even an argument to be had and what will happen to those who don’t have healthcare insurance which is in the millions. Capitalism is threatening to cull the US population-based on socio-economic factors which could be just what some people want or in the very least, make them not care. If poor elderly people who are most susceptible to dying from the virus, that means that’s less social security checks the US government has to mail out.

Tonight we will also do a post-Super Tuesday analysis that will take a look at the curious outcomes as Joe Biden comes out of nowhere to be up 65 delegates in the race for the DNC nomination which according to a fraud lawsuit from 2016, the DNC as a private corporation can change its rules whenever it gets ready as it did with Bloomberg and more recently to keep Tulsi Gabbard from the debate stage while people like Hillary Clinton pontificate to Sanders about following the rules, as she once again has to answer questions about not following the rules on federal record-keeping laws.

Heading into Super Tuesday, national polls showed that Bernie Sanders had taken the lead over Joe Biden in support from Black voters but according to reports, Black voters, particularly Boomers in the South, voted overwhelmingly for Biden.

I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection. – Martin Luther King Jr., Letter From A Birmingham Jail

However, younger Black voters voted for Sanders but its funny how some Black talking heads on social media have declared that Sanders can’t win the Black vote and don’t take the generational divide into account nor that Black voters in the North are not moderate or conservative as Black voters in the South. Not to offend anyone but many Black boomers in the Red States were deprived of an education that trained them to think independently of the system and its gatekeepers. The same goes for many white folks in the South but we not talking about them right now.

You have to read the history of slavery to understand this. There were two kinds of Negroes. There was that old house Negro and the field Negro. And the house Negro always looked out for his master. When the field Negroes got too much out of line, he held them back in check. He put ’em back on the plantation. The house Negro could afford to do that because he lived better than the field Negro. He ate better, he dressed better, and he lived in a better house. He lived right up next to his master – in the attic or the basement. He ate the same food his master ate and wore his same clothes. And he could talk just like his master – good diction. And he loved his master more than his master loved himself. That’s why he didn’t want his master hurt. If the master got sick, he’d say, “What’s the matter, boss, we sick?” When the master’s house caught afire, he’d try and put the fire out. He didn’t want his master’s house burned. He never wanted his master’s property threatened. And he was more defensive of it than the master was. – Malcolm X, The House Negro & The Field Negro

Many people just listen to pundits on the tv who may not be honest with them because of their ties to corporations and the establishment or they listen to Black elected officials who may not have their constituent’s best interest in mind but maintaining their place in the establishment.

Thank goodness there are people like Rev. William Barber, who leads the modern Poor People’s Campaign, who pushed back on the message of moderation as white moderate candidates lined up to give speeches about not needing a revolution but moderation as they sought a photo opt at the recent march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. Let us also hope we get a real accounting of Joe Biden’s past racism from outlets like Essence since Black women are said to be the most reliable voters in the Democratic Party.

  1. Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Sir, I am rebuked in my spirit, and I hope millions more like me experience the same rebuke. It is so refreshing, yeah very encouraging to realise , that “real wokeness” is what you are doing right on this program. O to think how brave you are. HOW BRAVE to speak so clearly to the issue at hand. God Bless You, and remember “we can speak for ourselves, if only we have the information”.

remembering the unbroken link from the African revolutionary concept of “One GOD”: and God`s own “O Israel I have not loved you more than the Ethiopians!” Then let the “Ethiopians” the black man stretch forth his hands unto God. For freedom true freedom will come no other way.
    Peace in Christ
