South Carolina Sherrifs deputy ambushed and shot several times

By Scotty Reid

Berkeley County Sheriff Deputy Lt. Will Rogers was shot in the back several times while standing outside a convenience store in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The masked gunman is still at large. Witnesses said a masked assailant appeared from behind a Exxon gas station at Old Highway 52 and Cypress Gardens Road around 10:30 p.m. and as Lt. Will Rogers was speaking with a customer in the parking lot, the suspect came around a corner and shot Rogers from behind.

The suspect was described as being a male between 5’10” – 6’4″ tall, up to 225 pounds, wearing a mask, white long sleeved shirt, and gray sweat pants with a white stripe and carrying a maroon/red silk sack.

Lt. Will Rogers, a 25 year veteran of law enforcement has undergone surgery and is reportedly stable but still listed as critical.

There is no apparent motive for the shooting but South Carolina has experienced several officer involved shootings in the state in the past few months. The most notable killing was the shooting of Walter Scott which was captured on video that showed his execution at the hands of Michael Slager, a North Charleston police officer who has been charged with murder.

  1. Daxter you’re comments are deplorable. I hope God has mercy on your soul. You don’t know this man or do you? I bet not. you should feel shameful but there again I bet you have none of that either.

  2. Oh,well. That’s what happens when you are a part of a group that has historically terrorized black/melanoid people and think nothing negative will come from the terrorizing. Collateral damage!

    1. Will rogers did not deserve to get shot. Especially IN THE BACK. I’ll tell you what though, had that coward came up to him face to face he wouldn’t have a shot. But in the end, will is alive and will recover, however this coward will be found and will pay the punishment for his stupidity. And he can face the embarrassment of knowing he wasn’t man enough to go face to face with someone. With that being said, yes there are dirty cops, and I hope they all soon get found out. But it doesn’t make it right to go around shooting innocent ones with babies and loved ones at home. Grow up.
