The Context of White Supremacy hosts the fourth study session on David Allen’s best-selling book/system, Getting Things Done: The Art Of Stress-Free Productivity. Allen is a White Man (Racist Suspect), but his techniques might be helpful to many Victims of Racism. Last week’s installment offered tips on managing email and keeping your inbox tidy and current. Allen recommends having a folder for material that needs to be read – and keeping this folder handy when you’ll have spare time waiting for an appointment, flight or meeting to commence. We also discussed the importance of having reference materials orderly – hard copies and digital material; Allen stressed that one can keep as much data as your cabinets and hard drive will permit, but this material needs to be organized and easy to navigate. If any listeners are applying the techniques from this book, PLEASE, dial in to share how Allen’s suggestions are impacting your efforts to be efficient and creative. This week’s installment will pick up on chapters seven and eight – which offer strategies on keeping material tidy and filed as you accumulate more “stuff” and the critical value of reviewing what you have to do and how you should allocate your time and energy.
