The C.O.W.S. Compensatory Call-In 01/04/20

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog. 

#ANTIBLACKNESS

2019 concluded with an explosive gun battle during a Sunday morning worship in White Settlement, Texas. The shooter killed two parishioners before being fatally wounded by an armed White member of the churches security. The town has a long history of White Supremacy – including refusing to change the town name. Former NBA Commissioner David Stern died at the age of 80. Stern is credited with expanding professional basketball to a global market and growing the league into a billion dollar conglomerate. Stern also mandated a dress code, prohibited black high school athletes like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant from skipping collegiate (unpaid) basketball and allowed White Supremacist Donald Sterling, former owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, to remain a member of the league. In New York, concerns mount that “antisemitism” is growing. NPR reported that “Jews” are not just concerned with attacks from White Supremacists, but also with attacks from black people. #BlackIdentityExtremists While in Florida, C.O.W.S. listeners who participated in The C.O.W.S. 2019 Counter-Racist Yoga Retreat in Florida discussed all of these events, enjoyed delicious plant-based meals, did yoga and made two trips to the local range.
