Republican Lawmakers In North Carolina Attempt To Rig Judicial Races To Get Rid Of Black Judges

A new bill in North Carolina’s legislature is seeking to redraw the state’s judicial districts, but opponents of HR 717 say it’s just another phase of the power grab by Republican lawmakers.

A federal court appeared to rebuke those same North Carolina Republicans on Thursday for failing to fully fix election districts illegally drawn because they weakened the influence of black voters.

Rev. Dr. William Barber spoke with Roland Martin during Friday’s edition of NewsOne Now about the fight against gerrymandering the North Carolina’s judiciary.
