BTR News – According to news reports out of Burma, seven soldiers have been sentenced to 10 years in prison for participating in the murder/massacre of Rohingya Muslims in the village of Inn Din in western Rakhine State which doesn’t seem like an adequate sentence for such a grave crime against humanity. The victims of this specific crime involving just ten victims are just a small representation of the thousands of Rohingya who have been killed by the Burmese military’s ethnic cleansing campaign against the minority Muslim group and seemingly aided by anti-Muslim propaganda allowed on Facebook.
As the US government is calling for military action against the lawful government of Syria over dubious claims that its lawful President gassed his own people, a charge that is quite frequently made against any leader of a foreign nation that the United States wants to install a puppet regime, the US government took very little to no action against the leaders of Burma. In fact, US President Barack Obama was the first sitting US President ever to visit the country pledging to lift sanctions on the nation. However, the genocide against the Rohingya Muslims escalated on Obama’s watch who has said little about the grave human rights violations and why would he when he along with other members of his administration, primarily Hillary Clinton, launched the start of an ongoing genocide against the Libyan people using radical Muslims groups to overthrow its lawful government claiming, Gaddafi was killing his own people and supplying his troops with . Neither Obama or Clinton has been vocal on the reports of open-air slave markets in Libya from reports late last year which are a direct result of US/ NATO support of Islamic extremists to overthrow that nation in 2011.
What does the aforementioned have to do with Facebook and its apparent allowance of hate speech in Burma? The very same hate speech and fake news that Mark Zuckerberg allows on his platform in Burma were also posted in the United States in relation to getting the public behind military actions aimed at the lawful governments and leaders of both Syria and Libya. To make matters worse, Libya was a standing ally to the US government in its fake war on terror in Africa except Gaddafi was actually fighting Islamist terrorists whereas the United States via the CIA has been supporting those various groups including those in Syria who in the past have been known and cited by the United Nations to have used chemical weapons.
If we are going to be equitable in our outrage at fake news and the promotion of hate speech, Facebook should not be singled out when the very same comes from the corporate news networks like CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and others deemed credible and escape the fact checkers simply because of their corporate status and brands and it has been this writer’s experience that even the fact checkers have to be fact-checked.
It should be well known by now that the Bush administration’s lies after 9/11 to justify a brutal assault on Iraq was aided by anti-Muslim “news” by the that people are tuning in to get an earful of hateful propaganda concerning Syria, Russia and Iran while largely ignoring or biasedly reporting in favor of the ongoing Israeli offensive against unarmed Palestinian protesters declaring their right to return to their lands they were displaced from by the apartheid settler government of Israel. In order to facilitate the skewing of the facts on the ground, the Israelis have been targeting journalists in vests clearly marked “press” but there seems to be little outrage and pontificating on what a monster Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is even as he declares African refugees infiltrators threatening the “Jewishness” of the state.
Recently it was reported that a vast majority of Americans believe the corporate media is biased and promotes fake news stories to promote either a conservative or liberal agenda but it is only those outlets that do not promote propaganda that aligns with their political beliefs that are deemed fake news.
If Americans are interested in researching why they should not trust any news sources without doing their own fact checking by checking multiple sources and not just those they are ideologically aligned with then they can start by studying the CIA run propaganda program Operation Mockingbird or studying how most news sources, including the Black press, in the United States during the civil rights era of Dr. Martin Luther King and the Black Power era of the Black Panther Party, published biased and outright fake news directly from the FBI run Counter Intelligence Program codenamed COINTELPRO. In fact, the accusations of groups inside the United States like Black Lives Matter being stooges of Vladimir Putin harkens back to FBI director J. Edgar Hoover’s portrayal of the Black Panther Party and other human rights activists as agents of communist governments.
The congressional hearings featuring Facebook executives are actually the beginning of another attempt at government censorship of citizens on the internet posting to privately held platforms, because of the fact that the executives of Fox News, CNN and the like are not being called to the table to answer questions about doing the very same things user’s on Facebook are being accused of doing. I would not be a surprised if Mark Zuckerberg is in on the con game as he seems way to quick to agree to government regulation of his platform which would apply to all privately held online platforms. In fact, Hillary Clinton should be questioned by Congress on who are her executive friends at CNN who gave Donald Trump’s campaign exclusive coverage over both Republican and Democrat candidates running during the primary season in a scheme Clinton campaign members called the “pied piper strategy” to help Trump win the GOP nomination viewing Trump as an easy opponent which of course backfired and here we are today with the result of that unethical media coverage by primarily CNN and MSNBC.
