The Context of White Supremacy hosts our 4th study session on Pamela Evans Harris’s second publication, BLACK LOVE IS A REVOLUTIONARY ACT. Before her tragic passing earlier this year, #PamTheGreat managed the RacismWS website and authored a number of books that explicitly confront the problem of White Supremacy and what to do about it. She was one of The C.O.W.S. listeners’s most treasured guests and appeared on the program dozens of times. Deeply saddened by her transition, we’re studying her work to honor her life and to learn constructive information to permanently eradicate Racism. Pam revealed that the primary motivator for this book was to help eradicate the enormous animosity between black males and black females. Last week’s session examined the Stockholm Syndrome and the psychology that compels many Victims of White Supremacy to seek the validation, acceptance and mercy of White Supremacists while distancing themselves from and showing contempt for black people or things associated with black people. Pam and her co-authors stress that centuries of being subjected to relentless terrorism has many of us functioning from a position of learned helplessness which has poisoned our relationship to other black people and ourselves.
