If you are awarded a grammy, you are considered to be the best artist among your peers. The problem is, the Grammys is a white-dominated organization and while it has long "included" non-white people, specifically Black people in the music business, the industry continues to support, promote and reward music that is harmful to black people in general and black women and girls specifically.

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Joseph Gibson. An author and founder of KITABU Publishing, Mr Gibson has invested years of his life educating black children. He’s currently a school principal at a predominantly black school in Michigan. Gibson has written about the role of White female teachers in the racist school system and the way black people are harmed by racist concepts and lies, which damage our critical thinking abilities. His most recent texts, Why Nobody Wants to Teach Black Kids From High-Poverty Backgrounds: Beyond Blaming Bad Teachers, Traditional Racism, and Black Students Themselves, examines how pretty much everyone has been convinced that black boys and girls are dumb and not fun to teach. Years of teaching black children has given Gibson more than a decade to observe how educators and parents view the academic development of black children. He insists accepting our own racist views of black children’s intellect is necessary to interrupt behaviors that sabotage the growth of black students.
