Chris Christie speaking at an event that included Jewish donors, called for a more aggressive foreign policy where the United States would increase its use of force to spread American fascism around the world.
“The rest of the world watches in desperation and hope that America will realize and act upon once again its indispensable place in the world,” and “America must represent the strongest military and economic power, but also “the strongest moral power for what is good and what is right in the world.” opined Christie delivering the keynote address at the Champions of Jewish Values International awards gala in New York.
However, after the event concluded, Christie was more or less forced to apologize for comments made at a prior Jewish fundraiser for the GOP. In late March at a Las Vegas gathering of the Republican Jewish Coalition, billionaire Sheldon Adelson met with Christie and several other possible Republican contenders where Christie gave an account of a recent trip he took to Israel with his wife.
ABC News reported, “
At the time, Christie, a Catholic, said he was overwhelmed by displays of religious tolerance during a recent trip to Jerusalem.
“I took a helicopter ride from occupied territories across … and just felt, personally, how extraordinary that was to understand the military risk that Israel faces every day,” Christie said.
The comment about “occupied territories” drew sharp criticism from some in the audience. The Israeli government and by extension most of Israel’s supporters in the U.S. don’t consider the West Bank and East Jerusalem to be occupied territory.
In pandering to Zionist big money donors, Christie explained that he misspoke.
He comments about Israeli religious tolerance are in opposition to what was recently stated by the writer and Israel Prize laureate Amoz Oz who said last week that those responsible for hate crimes in Israel against Arabs and Christians are “Hebrew neo-Nazis.”
Another Jewish billionaire, embattled LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling stated in the audio recording that was released by TMZ, that black Jews in Israel are “treated like dogs” and expressed that he had no desire to change the racist culture of Israel.
Christie did not misspeak in his assessment that Israel is a occupying military force in Palestine and he has no problem with the status quo. If the American values Christie is speaking of is racism, intolerance, genocide and white supremacy, then obviously Israel is as American as apple pie.
